API Providers Are VCs in Disguise

This post was originally written by Ziggeo’s founder, Susan Danziger: API providers, like VCs, benefit from the success of others. As everyone knows, VCs benefit from the success of their investments; the more their portfolio companies grow, the bigger the return for VCs. Similarly, API providers like my company, Ziggeo, benefit from the success of our customers. Because we charge for our API on a per use basis, we get a tiny piece of every company that incorporates our technology.  So as our customers grow, the more our technology is used – and the more we grow with them. That also means we try to do everything in our power to ensure the success of our customers.  It’s in our own self interest.
