Asynchronous Video Serves as Pipeline to Live Video Conversations

Asynchronous (recorded) video is an ideal companion to live video. In fact, recorded video can often lead to live video interactions. For instance, in the sales context, by leaving a video message, you're introducing yourself, building trust, and starting a relationship with your customer. By recording and leaving a video message, you're more likely to generate a response that leads to a live conversation on video or otherwise.

Similarly in the recruitment context, by recording and submitting a video, a candidate can make a real impression on potential employers. That video could then lead to a live video session (e.g. via Skype) or possibly an in-person interview.

Asynchronous video is not meant to replace live video interaction. Think of it as a pipeline to live conversations.
